Polytec Scanning Laser Vibrometer
Laser Doppler Vibrometry is a technique which employs the Doppler effect to study the movement of a point on a structure at high frequency and without contact, thus removing any influence of measurement equipment on the structure. This scanning vibrometer moves over a number of points during a test to give the full response of the structure. The unit also includes a seperate geometry capture laser, and is able to control excitation equipment such as shakers to synchronise excitation and response measurement.
